… It might seem that having more places where people can eat and drink would increase competition and steal away customers. Although that can be an issue at first, long-term the opposite is true.

I still think broccoli is getting the short end of the “signature” event, though tacos are nice, too. Here is the list of participating establishments from the event page at Fb.

Taco walk coming to New Albany (Hanson Press Release Gumbo)

NEW ALBANY – Develop New Albany will host the first-ever New Albany Taco Walk beginning at City Square in Downtown New Albany and including various local restaurants on Saturday, August 12, from 3 to 6 p.m.

Enjoy taco samples prepared by local restaurants, drink specials, event specials at local shops, and a scavenger hunt with prizes. An extended after party featuring music, a cash bar and activities for children from 5 to 8 p.m. will be held in the City Square.

This inaugural Taco Walk will feature various types of tacos served at 15 local downtown and midtown restaurants.

Tickets are $30 and can be purchased at http://developna.org/event-tickets.html

Only a limited amount of tickets will be available the day of the event. T-shirts will be also be available for sale on the day of the Taco Walk.

“We are very excited to bring the Taco Walk to New Albany. The response from local restaurants and businesses has been great and the public has been very receptive as well,” said Teresa Baxter, Develop New Albany Board President, in a news release.
