City updates
*Concert flyers should be out June 5th
*Boomtown Memorial Day weekend they have flyers at the city
*Working on street dinner Date has changed to September June 13th tickets should available next week.
*beatification day went great thanks to everyone
We went over Ribbon cutting and upcoming dates
Larry Ricke talked about adding benches to downtown area it would be great for the husbands. Possible memorial benches and adding garbage cans to every corner. Stacey Friebert suggested adding bike racks to the project. Teresa and Rich is going to find out specs and see what steps we can do next. It is about projecting the friendly inviting feeling.
Car show update great turnout did not close streets early so Restaurants could stay open. Not a lot of walk through traffic but they did announce open businesses.
Kate Kane, Clark & Floyd Tourism day at steam boat race was a successful 1st year. People were surprised at what southern Indiana has to offer. Next year times may need to adjust. Isba group was in last week and they were very happy. Abby road is coming to Louisville in 5 days so New Albany should have people visiting as well. Next year Abby Road is moving to Jeffersonville May 2017, so we will see traffic in New Albany then as well. Hometown tourist month is May so let’s think what we can do to partner up. June 1st 8:30 am. Sunnyside Tourism meeting will be at the Carnegie Center, all are invited to attend.
Festival of Ale is June 4th at the New Albany Amphitheatre, this is the first year here. People will be beer tasting and may be walking around Downtown also.
Art in the parish green is June 11 and 12th.
Farmers market is open! Susan has flyers if you need them.
Shelly Sorg spoke about sponsorship opportunities for the Independence Day splash and dash 5k July 4th, booth space is available. Obstacle course available for the kids, it is a family event. This year it will be held at Transformation training on 8th street.
